Infection control
All of the instrumentation that is placed in a patient’s mouth is either disposable (used only once) or sterilized. The reusable items are scrubbed with a disinfectant soap, then placed in an ultrasonic cleaner (type of solution) and then sterilized in the autoclave which uses heat, chemicals, and pressure. All instruments and hand pieces are included in these procedures.
The rooms are wiped down with disinfectant between each patient. All of the operatory surfaces that are contacted by the hands of the doctor or assistant are wiped down with “Ster-All”, a phenol-based disinfectant.
We Follow Four Tier Sterlization Protocol For Non Disposable Instruments
Tier 1
All The Instruments Are Scrubbed Thoughly With Spirit Swabs To Remove Any Attached Debris.
Tier 2
The Instruments Are Then Immersed In 5% Korsolex Sterlizing Solution For 45 Min For Standard Disinfection
Korsolex Sterilising Solution
Korsolex Offers
Concentrated cold steriliser for heat-sensitive and heat-resistant instruments.
Areas of Application
- Korsolex is ideal for the disinfection and sterilisation of:
- Instruments made of metal, porcelain, glass, plastic, stainless steel, ceramics, rubber
- Diamond cutting burs, root canal and hand set instruments etc.
Tier 3
The cold sterile instruments are then packed in individualized sterile packs that contain instruments, gauze, cotton balls and suction devices (photograph). Our patients are reassured when a new pack of supplies is opened in front of them prior to treatment.
The standardized sterilization method used in our dental office is: autoclaving (steam under pressure), these measures are carried out rigorously and consistently and demonstrate our commitment to your safety.
Tier 4
Dental instruments in sterilized packages are stored in U.V CHAMBER to maintain the sterilization, which are opened in front of the patient. My assistant and I wear surgical scrubs, gloves, masks, and protective eyewear during patient treatment. We feel that we can strive to make our infection control and sterilization program the highest priority. We welcome any questions from you regarding our procedures.
